Privacy Policy

buddi is committed to protecting its customers’ on-line privacy. We use the information we collect about customers to process orders and to provide a personalised service to customers when customers visit our website.

We ask all customers to take some time to review this Privacy Policy carefully as it tells customers how their personal information will be treated by us.

By using the buddi Limited website (the "Website"), and our services, customers unconditionally agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. We may periodically add further functionality or make amendments and improvements to this Website from time to time, and as such customers should regularly refer back to this Privacy Policy to review any amendments. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will have immediate affect and we reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time without notice.

Any questions regarding this Privacy Policy should be directed to buddi's Privacy Policy Manager (see section "Contacting Us" below).

What data do we collect?

So that we can provide a personalised service, we may, upon registration or at other times, ask customers to submit information such as their name, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number and, in connection with their password, an answer to a question that only customers would know. Customers are under no obligation to provide such information. However, should customers choose to withhold requested information, we may not be able to provide customers with certain services. In addition, when customers are ordering goods and services, we may need to know their payment details (such as their credit or debit card number and related information).

Certain information is collected automatically as is described later on in this Privacy Policy.

How is the information used?

We will use the information customers provide to us to:

  • identify visitors;
  • process payments, order or applications submitted by customers;
  • improve the content of our web page;
  • customise the content and/or layout of our page for each individual customer;
  • provide advertisements that are relevant to customers and which support any specific requests;
  • administer their account(s) and subscription(s) with us;
  • carry out research on our customers' demographics, interests and behaviour; and
  • send customers information we think customers may find useful, including information about new products and services (if customers have chosen to receive such information).

Customers can tell us not to contact customers or share the information with a third party either at initial registration or later through updates or amendments to their personal information. We may occasionally send customers communications about products and services we feel may be of interest to customers. This will only come from us (or our agents) and only if customers consent to receive these offers. If at any future time customers do not wish to continue to receive these communications, then send an email with the word “unsubscribe” to contact@buddi.co.uk.

With whom is the information shared?

At times, we may:

  • enter into co-branding arrangements with other reputable organisations, with whom their personal information may be shared; or
  • disclose their personal information to business partners or sponsors,

but in either case their consent is sought prior to collecting the data or prior to transferring it. Please note that certain services may be unavailable if customers do not want us to disclose information relating to customers as outlined above.

We may disclose aggregate statistics about our Website visitors, customers and sales in order to describe our services to prospective partners, advertisers and other reputable third parties and for other lawful purposes, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law (for example, if required to do so by a Court order) or if we believe that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights, property or personal safety of buddi, the Website or its visitors.

Other than as described above, we will only disclose their personal information to a third party, either as part of the reorganisation or sale of the assets of buddi, or having ensured that steps have been taken to ensure that their privacy rights continue to be protected. This Website may, from time to time, contain links to other Websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of such Websites.

Security

We place a great importance on the security of all personally identifiable information associated with our customers. We have security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of customer data under our control. For example, our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorised personnel have access to user information. We use secure software to encrypt financial information customers input before it is sent to us. While we cannot ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of data will not occur, we use our best efforts to prevent this.

Log Files/ IP Address

When customers visit our Website, we may automatically log their IP address (the unique address which identifies their computer on the Internet) which is automatically recognised by our web server. We use IP addresses to help us administer our Website and to collect broad demographic information for aggregate use.

Use of cookies

Cookies are pieces of information that a website transfers to their hard drive to store and sometimes track information about customers. This information facilitates their use of our Website and helps us to provide customers with the best level of service; for example cookies ensure that customers do not need to re-enter their details every time customers visit our Website and help us to show customers advertisements which are relevant to their interests.

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if customers prefer, customers can change their browser to prevent that and their help screen or manual will tell customers how to do this. However, customers may not be able to take full advantage of our Website if customers do so. Cookies are specific to the server that created them and cannot be accessed by other servers, which means they cannot be used to track their movements around the Internet. Although they do identify a user's computer, cookies do not personally identify users and passwords and credit card information are not stored in cookies.

We use cookies to:

  • identify who customers are and to access their account information;
  • estimate our audience size and patterns;
  • ensure that customers are not asked to register twice;
  • control how often visitors see similar ads;
  • track preferences and to improve and update our Website; and
  • track the progress and number of entries in some of our promotions and contests

Where is the information stored?

Information which customers submit via this Website is sent to a computer located in the European Economic Area ("EEA"). This is necessary in order to process the information and to send customers the information customers have requested. Information submitted by customers may be transferred by us to our other offices and to other reputable third party organisations, which may be situated outside the European Economic Area ("EEA") in countries which may not have similar data protection laws to the EEA. If we transfer their information outside the EEA in this way, we will take steps to ensure that their privacy rights continue to be protected.

Your acceptance of these terms

By using this Website, customers consent to the collection and use of this information by us and to this Privacy Policy.

Your rights

Customers have a legal right to a copy of the personal information about customers held by us. Customers also have a right to correct any errors in that information. As mentioned above, customers have a right to prevent us using their personal information for direct marketing purposes.
