Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Buddi Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035. We are focused on scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reduction targets aligned with the goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degree centigrade above preindustrial levels.

Current and Baseline Emissions Reporting

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced historically and are a reference point against which emissions can be measured going forward.

Commentary on the 2022 reporting year:

2022 was a year of significant growth for the company, with revenue increasing by 56% versus 2021. During the year the company manufactured a record number of electronic monitoring devices and deployed these to customers across the globe. Increases to the company’s scope 3 emissions are directly attributable to this significant global growth.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following medium-term carbon reduction target. We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 750 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 40%. We aim to achieve net zero emissions by 2035.

We will monitor and report our progress against these targets annually.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been implemented since the baseline year:

• Installation of increased efficiency air conditioning systems;

• Encouraging employees to purchase energy efficient vehicles by prioritising available parking spaces for electric vehicles;

• Holding increased levels of inventory in order to reduce freight costs;

• Implementing policies to ensure that computers are put into standby mode when users are not at their desks;

• Increased use of video-conferencing to reduce (in particular) long-haul air travel.

 In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

• Extend equipment lifetime in order to reduce the capital intensity of our business model;

• Review suppliers of mobile services and data centres to ensure that we work with suppliers who are actively reducing their emissions in line with our own targets;

• Implement bike2work scheme to UK based employees;

• Adopt and contribute to emission off-set schemes with accredited suppliers.
